| The Quilt Artists of Kentucky was formed in 2003 as an auxiliary of
the Kentucky Heritage Quilt Society. Membership in the Quilt Artists
of Kentucky is limited to current or new members of the Kentucky Heritage
Quilt Society. Membership dues to join the Quilt Artists of Kentucky
are $5.00 per year in addition to KHQS membership dues.

| The group’s purpose is to serve as a support and information group
for those interested in innovative quilt making techniques and the quilt
as an art form, to provide exhibition opportunities and to provide education
to the general public about the art of the quilt. |

| The Quilt Artists of Kentucky currently have two annual events:
|

The Quilt Artist of Kentucky annual meeting is held during Getaway, usually there is an afternoon of Demonstrations then a brief meeting to discuss the quilt challenge for the next year and any business that might arise. Getaway is held in June each year.

The Annual QAK quilt show entitled “Quilts with A Kick” – Contemporary
Quilts by the Quilt Artists of Kentucky held at ArtSpace in Berea,
Kentucky is an integral part of the “Quilt Extravaganza.” Dates
for the 2010 Show are July 5 thru August 27.
There will be many additional quilt related activities during the
Quilt Extravaganza. For more information see the Berea Arts Council
website.
