Blue Licks Battlefield State Park, Mt. Olive, Ky., is the location for the 2009 Kentucky Heritage Applique Society Retreat. It will take place March 6 – March 8, 2009. The instructor will be Darlene Christopherson from China Spring, Texas.

The workshop is entitled AN APPLIQUE MEDLEY: “Compote.” Darlene is a teacher, author, quiltmaker, and pattern designer. She is the author of A Perfect Union of Patchwork and Applique. Darlene is a nationally know designer and hand appliqué instructor.

“Compote” can be either a small wall quilt or the start of a larger quilt.can be either

The workshop will run from Friday evening (March 6) until noon on Sunday (March 8). Housing and classes will be at Blue Licks Battlefield State Park Lodge.

The fee for lodging and registration is $160.00 Meals will be on your own. To reserve your spot, send your non-refundable deposit of $25.00 (refunded if you are on the waiting list and you do not get in). The balance of $135.000 will be due in early 2009.
